It's been a while since my last mix and this one is attached to an event, mixed solely for the purpose of ones birthday, my dear mothers.  So happy birthday mum!  I was requested to record a mix for her birthday so this is the result of that request.

This mix includes a new genre that I very rarely use and a slightly different style of mixing. Starting with a chillout intro, into Progressive Trance, then into Uplifting Trance and finishing on Tech Trance.  I've tried to keep the feeling as uplifting and emotional as possible without getting too hard.

My favourite track of the mix is actually the last, Sander Van Doorn and Purple Haze with Bliksem It's just an awesome track with a racing bassline that brings a whole heap of energy to the end of the mix.

I thought I'd make a change and do some classic uplifting trance for once.  Not something I've done for a long time!  After spending a few hours picking the tracks I set to burning the CDs and blasting it onto my recorder.  The result is an extremely uplifting set with only 2 vocal tracks.  I also started the mix with an intro track, courtesy of Chemical Activity.

All in all you will find a mass of twinkly, sparkly, arms in the air breakdowns with uplifting melodic melodies.  It was also one of the most enjoyable mixes I've done for a while, with a bpm of 138, it's fast paced and all go.

An emotional mix, as usual inspired by the grips of a passing moment.  This one is specifically
for someone in particular but that's about all I'm going to say on that one!  It's not the first
time I've dedicated a mix to someone and certainly won't be the last I'm sure of it.

The vocal tracks were picked specifically by theme and feeling, providing a slow and sombre set,
packed full of emotion created by a mixture of female and male vocals.  My favourite 2 tracks of
the set are 05, "Back To Zero" and 10, "I Want You".  I particularly like "Back To Zero" for the
vocals of Denise Rivera, incredibly sexy, well thought out lyrics too.  "I Want You" has to be
my overall favourite of the mix, just take a listen and I'm sure you'll understand why!

This is the first time I've mixed electro with progressive, and certainly the first time that I
have used electro tracks with a more sombre / progressive feel to them.  That said, this mix isn't
all bubbly and happy the whole way through, more emotional thanks to some awesome tracks.

The tracks comprise of both vocal and instrumental tracks as usual with my mixes.  My favourite
instrumental track in the mix is track 6, containing only a small voice over from the moon landing
I feel it really builds tension at that point in the mix.  My favourite vocal track is a close
call between 8 and 10, 8 just slightly ahead as I love the dark feel to the vocals.

Anyway, enough of the waffle, I hope you enjoy the mix!  I'm hoping to have something a little
special for a new year mix, much longer than anything I've done before too.

For this set I gathered together 10 ultra cool progressive house tracks, no vocals, and no other
genre involved.  I've been trying for a while to get the same kind of laid back progressive
sounds that I have bought together in a previous mix of mine; Sunstroke.  I'm hoping that this
mix achieves that.

My favourite track of the mix is track 9, Odissea Miditerranea, by Laera, simply for using a
really superb classical melody in a progressive house track, awesome!
